Top Stories: Vaccinations

  • Massachusetts has started to report the number of COVID-19 booster doses administered.
  • Earlier this week, the Massachusetts State Police union claimed that dozens of troopers are resigning because of the state's vaccine mandate. But a State Police spokesman said only one definitively left the force because of it.
  • Nearly three-quarters of Boston city employees have either submitted proof of their COVID-19 vaccination or are undergoing weekly coronavirus testing.
  • The Amherst Regional School Committee voted this week to require all eligible students to get vaccinated by Dec. 1.
  • The Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union has sued to postpone Governor Charlie Baker's vaccine mandate.
  • Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee emphasized today the importance of frontline workers getting vaccinated. Health care workers who don't get at least one shot by Friday could be at risk of losing their job.
  • Also in Rhode Island, a US District Court judge has denied a request from a group of health care workers who want the state to allow religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
  • Eleanor Slater Hospital in Providence plans to let unvaccinated employees work for up to 30 days beyond the vaccination deadline.
