Clover Health,
a healthcare company using data and technology to improve medical outcomes, is
expanding its Medicare Advantage offering in Chatham County, the company
announced recently.
Beginning
Jan. 1, 2019 Clover will be partnering with SouthCoast Health in addition to
St. Joseph’s/Candler, Clover’s current local provider. Those eligible would be
able to enroll in the plans during the annual enrollment period from Oct. 15
through Dec. 7, 2018.
“Clover’s
momentum in Savannah is the result of our ongoing mission to empower our
members to live their healthiest lives,” said Clover’s regional general manager
Jeff Ross.
Medicare
Advantage plans, sometimes called “Part C”, are offered by private companies
such as Clover, who are approved by Medicare. These Medicare Advantage plans
can offer enhanced benefits and greater value, compared with traditional
Medicare, which is why more than one third of all Medicare beneficiaries have
already chosen to be in an Advantage plan.
Savannah
was selected to be part of Clover’s expansion based on its receptive customer
base and Clover’s ability to grow its high-quality Medicare Advantage plans
through top local healthcare providers. In 2019, Clover will expand its
Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) options to offer flexible, accessible
quality care.
“We are
excited to continue our investment in the Savannah, Pooler and Garden City
communities and to bring highly-personalized care to seniors in the area,” Ross
said.
Currently,
Clover serves more than 30,000 seniors eligible for Medicare in parts of
Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas.
