Role of AAAs in Dementia Services and Brain Health: Results of a New Poll

Join n4a for a webinar highlighting the findings of a poll and
report assessing how Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) across the country have
adapted to serve growing numbers of individuals with dementia and their
caregivers and developed initiatives related to brain health. AAAs have
long played an important role in supporting Individuals living with
dementia and their caregivers through an array of home and community-based
services. In recent years, researchers have begun to develop a better
understanding of the importance of brain health across the lifespan and how
individuals can mitigate their risk factors and maintain a healthy brain.
Programs highlighted:
- Brain Health Fair, which
provides hands-on activities and education on brain health - developed
by Bergen County Division of Senior Services in New Jersey
- Model for
Alzheimer’s/Dementia Services Focused on People Living Alone (MASPLA),
which aims to identify and connect with people living with dementia
who live alone and their caregivers - developed by the United Way of
Tarrant County AAA
