Open Enrollment may be over, but the Small Business Health
Options Program (SHOP) is open year-round! There’s still time to get health
coverage for your small business in 2020. Follow these three steps to get
ready to enroll:
- Visit HealthCare.gov to learn
about SHOP. See if your business qualifies
for SHOP coverage and how it
can benefit your business. To find the best plan for your
business and employees, consider
the price, benefits, and features. You’ll also want to
think about how much money you’re able to spend for group insurance
and when you want coverage to start. Some businesses may also qualify
for the Small
Business Health Care Tax Credit!
- Talk to your employees. Ask your employees about
their coverage needs. This will help you with your insurance decision,
and you’ll get an idea of how many employees might participate.
- Get help. Licensed agents and brokers registered with SHOP
can help you understand your insurance options and enroll in coverage
at no additional cost to you or your employees. You can also enroll
through your insurance company.
