Election 2020: The State(s) of Health
Care Snapshots
With
health care a leading issue in the 2020 election, KFF has released a new series of fact sheets that provide a comprehensive
overview of the health policy landscape in each state.
Each
snapshot contains data about more than three dozen demographic and health
care indicators across a wide variety of subjects, including health care
costs, the uninsured, private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, the
Affordable Care Act, women’s health, access to care and the health status of
the population. Snapshots also contain basic information about each state’s
political landscape, from who controls the governor’s office and state legislature,
to the political mix of the congressional delegation and which senators and
governors are up for re-election in 2020.
The
snapshots are part of KFF’s ongoing efforts to provide useful information related to the health policy issues
relevant for the 2020 primary and general election campaigns, including policy analysis, polling, and journalism.
Filling
the need for trusted information on national health issues, the Kaiser Family Foundation is
a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco, California.
