Major health care changes could be on the horizon in the US
following the 2020 presidential election. A new administration will gain
control of HHS and the federal government's regulatory functions, but
President-elect Joe Biden's party may not have control of the Senate, which
could complicate his health care agenda. That agenda could include expanding
health insurance subsidies under the Affordable Care Act, lowering the Medicare
eligibility age, allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices and creating a
government-run health plan that serves as an ACA public option.
