Study: How Medicaid expansion affects diabetes care
A study in the American
Journal of Preventive Medicine found that Medicaid expansion was
tied to an increase in patients with diabetes who could afford a physician
visit, who had health insurance and in the rate of provider foot examinations
and self-foot examinations. However, the findings also showed that expansion
provided no other significant improvements for other care continuum measures.
