FDA working on guidance to address coronavirus
variants
FDA Acting Commissioner Janet Woodcock said the agency is studying
and monitoring how new coronavirus variants are affecting existing vaccines,
treatments and diagnostics, and it's working on a guidance to help speed the
development of new medical products against the emerging variants. The agency
is also collaborating with drug developers to expedite development of new
treatments and antibodies that show promise against the new variants.
