Senate likely to extend Medicare pay cut moratorium
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Minority Leader
Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., have agreed to extend until Dec. 31 a moratorium on 2%
Medicare payment cuts required under sequestration, according to the American
Hospital Association. Senate lawmakers are expected to vote this week on the
measure, pushing the current March 31 effective date by nine months.
