As teens finish high school and move on to the next stage of life, they have many new experiences waiting. If they have type 1 diabetes, they may also face extra challenges.

 

If they’re moving away from home for the first time, they’ll face these challenges with less help from parents. Diabetes care often suffers when teens and young adults begin to make complicated decisions on their own, have less structure in their day, and have increased responsibilities. Good care during this time is very important.
