Many seniors struggle to decide when to file a claim for Social Security because they mistakenly believe it is a one-time, irreversible decision. What many don't know is that for each year between full retirement age and age 70, they have six months to change their mind and apply for a lump sum of the benefits they delayed claiming together with their future entitlements.
