New Fact Sheet Addresses Dental/Oral Health in Management of Kidney Disease

In collaboration with Larry Coffee, DDS, the Center has issued a new fact sheet that offers important oral health tips for persons living with kidney disease. Dental Issues Related to Kidney Disease is the latest in a series of fact sheets explaining the interrelationship between oral health and major medical conditions.  While individual prevention and management of oral and dental disease are important in the context of certain underlying health problems, access to affordable dental coverage and care can be absolutely vital as well.  This latter component is one that too many Medicare beneficiaries currently lack.  In 2022, the Center will continue to urge CMS and the Administration to expand Medicare coverage for medically necessary oral/dental treatments.
