Happy Holidays from Chairman George P. Bush

The holiday season is a special time of the year. For me, nothing beats the time spent with family, especially my boys and seeing the excitement and joy that accompanies the season. Each year brings new memories that are cherished for a lifetime.

As a Veteran, I am also reminded of the sacrifices made by others that allow us to gather and celebrate. Every year as we eat homemade meals and cheer for our favorite football teams, there are thousands of men and women who are serving overseas and without the company of their loved ones. .

2021 Year in Review

As 2021 draws to a close, we are proud to look back on the VLB’s work to provide benefits to thousands of Veterans across Texas. From our low-interest home, land, and home improvement loans, our nine state Veterans homes, and our four state Veterans cemeteries, we have been busy all year ensuring that our Veterans are honored and taken care of. Here are a few of the highlights from the past 12 months.

Holiday Wreath Cleanup

Every year the VLB is honored to host wreath laying events at our four Veterans cemeteries. We were especially pleased with this year’s turn out where hundreds of volunteers helped add holiday decor to these sacred sites.

If you are interested in helping with the cleanup, you can keep an eye out on our event page for more information on the date and time for a cemetery nearest you.
