My
colleague Will Maddox is working remotely while caring for his younger son, who
was sent home from school after a COVID exposure. He wrote about the experience
of parenting in a pandemic:
“It
isn’t all terrible. Frustration and anxiety about health (are we going to get
sick?) and work (am I jeopardizing leadership and advancement at work by
staying home with my kids?) are balanced with joy that comes with spending more
time with my son, who usually prefers his mother. So I am trying to look at the
bright side whenever I can (plus I get to spend more time with the remote
control car, which Santa brought for us both).”
