Boston Mayor Michelle Wu on Friday...

... ended the city's proof-of-vaccination requirement that applied to some indoor venues after three COVID-19 metrics dipped below certain thresholds.

The policy, which was lifted immediately on Friday, had applied to establishments like restaurants, bars, movie theaters, and gyms. Bob Luz, president of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association, said removing the measure was a "game changer" for Boston restaurants, adding that some restaurants experienced a drop in sales when the policy went into effect last month.

Boston's indoor mask mandate remains in effect, but the Boston Public Health Commission is reviewing it.
