VA team gets life-saving naloxone where it's needed
A
VA Chillicothe team personally distributed naloxone kits, meant to
quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, to high-risk
Veterans. One Veteran called back to ask for another kit because he
had used the first one to save his neighbor's life.
VA helps Marine come home
When
fire left Marine Veteran Mathew Robie without a place to live, the
team at VA Palo Alto helped him relocate to stable housing. “I’ve
told quite a few friends to talk to the representatives at VA,
wherever they’re at,” he says. “It’s worth it.”

Pinpointing prostate cancer
At
Truman Veterans’ Hospital in Missouri, researchers are testing a
new drug to see if it more accurately shows how far prostate cancer
has spread, which could lead to better treatment.

Eastern OK VA faces down Omicron
In
one month, the hospital went from 136 positive tests to
1,052. “We’ve been busy before, but not like this. We would
have 20-30 cars lined up at 7:30 in the morning.”
