When is the right time to ditch remote work?

Two years into the pandemic, employers have toyed with return-to-office dates repeatedly. And some white-collar companies aren’t willing to keep people home any longer, Globe columnist Shirley Leung reported.

Leung agreed: “It’s time, folks. It’s 2022, not 2020.”

“It won’t be easy charting a path back to normalcy,” she wrote. “But companies can no longer wait for the government to lead the way. It’s time for employers to control their own destiny.”

Certain corporations are managing “soft starts,” where high-level employees come in a few days each week. Others have turned to the hybrid schedule.
