HHS Secretary Becerra Invokes Defense Production Act to Accelerate Delivery of Raw Materials and More Needed to Manufacture Infant Formula May 22, 2022   HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra today invoked the Defense Production Act (DPA) in order to ensure manufacturers obtain raw materials and consumables needed to further accelerate production of infant formula. HHS Announces Funding Opportunity for New Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Behavioral Health Center of Excellence May 17, 2022   This Mental Health Awareness Month, which is also Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), is announcing a nearly $3.5 million five-year grant opportunity to develop a Center of Excellence, advancing behavioral health care for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities while reducing behavioral health-related disparities. HHS Announces New Funding Opportunity to Strengthen Behavioral Health Services in Nursing Homes and Other Long-Term Care Facilities May 16, 2022   The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is announcing a funding opportunity of nearly $15 million for a three-year federal grant to establish a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) program that will strengthen the delivery of behavioral health care to residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
