CMS released the updated Preparedness and Response Toolkit for State Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Agencies in the Event of a Public Health Emergency or Disaster

Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released an updated Preparedness and Response Toolkit for State Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Agencies in the Event of a Public Health Emergency or Disaster.

This toolkit has been updated to include additional strategies, flexibilities and lessons learned from the COVID-19 public health emergency, and includes a new strategic framework for Medicaid and CHIP agencies as they prepare to respond to a disaster or public health emergency in the future.
