This morning, NDVA Director John Hilgert and DHHS Behavioral Health Director Sheri Dawson joined Governor Pete Ricketts for a press conference announcing Nebraska is participating in the VA and SAMHSA’s Governor’s Challenge to Prevent Suicide Among Service Members, Veterans, and their Families. Directors Hilgert and Dawson are co-leading a team of veteran advocates, public health professionals, community champions, VA partners, and more to develop and implement a strategic plan to address the issue.
