A Fourth of July holiday weekend spent with friends and family could
have some not-so-great consequences. That’s why experts are recommending folks keep out a sharp
eye for COVID symptoms this week.
“After a holiday, we see increases in cases because people are more likely to
gather in larger groups, spend more time indoors at larger gatherings,” said
Dr. Sabrina Assoumou, an attending infectious diseases physician at Boston
Medical Center.
Here are her recommendations: If symptoms develop, get tested. Even if a first
rapid test is negative, mask up until taking a second test two or three days
later. If you’re still worried, consider taking a PCR.
