The ACL-funded National Center on Elder Abuse
(NCEA) is charged with improving the national response to elder
abuse and has worked with the FrameWorks Institute on reframing
this social justice issue.
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine
(NASEM) recently released a report
with recommendations for how we finance, deliver, and regulate
nursing home care. In response, the FrameWorks Institute
developed new framing
guidance on how to share the NASEM report.
As these much-needed conversations around nursing homes get more
attention, it’s important to frame the issue in productive,
forward-looking ways. In this webinar, Julie Schoen, Director of
the Elder Abuse Guide for Law Enforcement (EAGLE), will walk
through how the NCEA has begun to reframe materials dealing with
elder abuse in long-term care facilities and discuss the process
of applying these techniques to public-facing materials that your
organization can use.
This is the second of three webinars in the Reframing
Long-Term Care Lunch and Learn Series. The video and slides
are available from the first webinar in the series,
which introduced the report and key concepts on how to use the
communications tools to spread awareness among policymakers and
community audiences.
Closed captioning will be available during the webinar. Email ncea-info@aoa.hhs.gov
with any questions.
