This National Spouses Day, it’s important to recognize that when
someone is diagnosed with blood cancer, it has a ripple effect,
impacting not only the patient but their loved ones as well.
That’s what happened when Marie’s husband Miguel was diagnosed with
non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) in 2017. “We
were both beyond devastated,” Marie recalled, “but giving up was NOT an option for either
of us.” Together, they were determined to beat his
blood cancer.
With questions about Miguel’s treatment and the best way to care
for him through his journey, Marie found “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)
was extremely helpful and supportive in his care and my education
in learning all about his diagnosis.” The good news is
that, with Marie’s unwavering support, her husband is now in
remission and working full time again, enjoying every day.
