I was dancing with a partner when all of a sudden I felt really dizzy and collapsed. I went into cardiac arrest. I had great friend there, a nurse, who started CPR. But I wasn’t responding.Luckily an automated external defibrillator (AED) was onsite and she used it to restart my heart. Did you know that American Heart Association funded research that made both CPR and defibrillators a reality?         Cardiac nurses Nickie, Allie and Tasha with Sharell.     I know if it weren’t for CPR and the defibrillator, I would not be alive to write to you today. My arteries were about 95% blocked but, after quadruple bypass surgery, I’ve made a complete recovery. I’ve lost 35 pounds. I’m back to dancing, and so grateful to be alive.
