A Medicare Advantage Checkup
In a New England
Journal of Medicine article, Tricia
Neuman and Gretchen Jacobson of KFF (the Kaiser Family Foundation) examine
the extent to which Medicare Advantage plans are achieving goals with respect
to benefits, out-of-pocket costs, plan choice, federal spending and quality.
They also highlight areas where more evidence is needed to understand the
implications of rising Medicare Advantage enrollment for beneficiaries and
the future of Medicare. More than one in three Medicare beneficiaries are enrolled
in Medicare Advantage, and the share is projected to continue rising over the
next decade.
Filling
the need for trusted information on national health issues,
the Kaiser Family Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in San
Francisco, California.
