TDI seeks
information on best practices for mental health parity compliance
The
Texas Department of Insurance seeks information on best practices for
parity compliance, enforcement, and oversight.
House
Bill 10, enacted by the 85th Texas Legislature, requires issuers to
have health insurance coverage and benefits for mental health and
substance use disorder treatment be in parity with coverage and
benefits for medical and surgical care. TDI is developing rules to
implement and enforce parity requirements.
See the TDI
website for the request for information and instructions on
how to submit comments. Written comments are due at 5 p.m., central
time February 12.
