Today, the Centers
for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Substance Abuse &
Mental Health Services Administration
(SAMHSA) are announcing that the states of Kentucky and
Michigan have selected
as additional participants in the Certified Community Behavioral
Health Clinic (CCBHC) Demonstration as required by the Coronavirus Aid,
Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
This demonstration is
part of a comprehensive effort to integrate behavioral health with physical
health care, increase consistent use of evidence-based practices, and
improve access to high quality care for people with mental health and
substance use disorders. While this demonstration was initially
created for a two year period under section 223 of the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014, the demonstration was extended
several times.
Kentucky and Michigan
join the original participants selected in 2016.
