Senate votes to delay Medicare sequestration cuts
Senate lawmakers voted 90-2 to approve a bill that would extend
until year-end a moratorium on 2% Medicare payment cuts required under
sequestration, sending the bill to the House for expected approval. Major
health care and provider groups have been urging Congress to extend the moratorium,
arguing the payment cuts would hurt health care professionals.
