States expand COVID-19 vaccine access as cases top

More states are expediting COVID-19 vaccination by expanding
eligibility as the number of reported COVID-19 cases in the US surpassed 30
million and total deaths reached 544,000, with new cases rising in 30 states.
About 13% of the US population has been fully vaccinated and about 25% has
received at least one dose of vaccine, while officials in more than 40 states
said they will meet President Joe Biden's target of May 1 for expanding access
to all adults.
