SHOP Tools and Resources

If you’re considering a Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) health insurance plan for your employees, be sure to check out these tools and resources to help you make an informed decision.

The SHOP Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Calculator: Calculate if your mix of full-time and part-time employees equals between 1-50 FTE employees. Generally, only businesses with 1-50 FTEs are eligible for SHOP.

The Small Business Health Care Tax Credit Estimator: Providing SHOP coverage may qualify you for reimbursement of up to 50% of the premiums paid! See if your business qualifies for the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit, and if so, approximately how much it could be worth.

Minimum Participation Rate (MPR) Calculator: In most states, at least 70% of employees must accept your SHOP coverage offer. This calculator helps predict whether you’ll meet your state’s MPR required to enroll in SHOP.

See SHOP plans and prices: Once you’re ready to enroll in a SHOP plan, you can see what plans are available and an estimated cost of the customized plan. Enter your ZIP code to view what is available in your area.

Find Local Help: Finding assistance for SHOP insurance has never been easier. Enter your ZIP code and filter the coverage types by “Small Business” to see a list of registered agents and brokers near you that can advise you on your coverage options, help you enroll and answer your coverage questions.

Have questions? Contact your insurance company or a SHOP-registered agent or broker for help with SHOP coverage. For additional assistance, contact the SHOP Call Center at 1-800-706-7893 (TTY: 1-888-201-6445).
