Your first meal could be your best meal!

There’s a reason you always hear that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That’s because it can improve your concentration and performance, give yourself strength and endurance to carry out your daily physical activity and help jump-start your metabolism.

If you find yourself without a big appetite in the mornings, that’s OK — something small can do the trick! Like toast with hummus or a hard-boiled egg or a little oatmeal with fresh fruit. Consider smoothies, too, with a dollop of nut butter for protein.

Making the healthiest choices possible to maintain good nutrition (at each meal, but especially breakfast!) can help minimize the side effects of treatment, recover from surgery and maintain the best quality of life. For more breakfast ideas, check out the Friday Fix!
