Central Nebraska Veterans Memorial Dedication Ceremony
|
|||
|
On Veterans Day, Governor
Ricketts traveled to Kearney to dedicate the Central Nebraska Veterans
Memorial. He was joined by several speakers, including NDVA Director John
Hilgert, and hundreds of observers. The Central Nebraska Veterans Memorial
features 8-foot tall stones with information on U.S. Military conflicts from
the Civil War to present day and 16-foot tall stones for each military branch.
The memorial committee, a non-profit under the umbrella of the Kearney Area
Community Foundation, began fundraising for the memorial in October 2015,
with construction starting June 2019. |

Veterans Day
|
|||
|
Every year on November
11th, we take time to honor and recognize our nation’s veterans. Different
branches of NDVA commemorated the day with different events and ceremonies.
The Central Nebraska Veterans Memorial, located at the Central Nebraska Veterans’
Home, was dedicated on Veterans Day. Cub Scouts from Pack 207 visited the
Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance to place flags on graves. Our State
Service Office participated in Lincoln’s annual Veterans Day Parade. We’re
grateful for the tremendous support for Nebraska’s veterans that we see from
across the state, and we want to remind all of Nebraska’s veterans and their
families that NDVA is here to serve you. |

Survey for Women Veterans
|
|||
|
The Center for Women
Veterans has developed a survey to hear from women who have served in the
military. The survey is designed to help VA gain a basic understanding of why
women veterans may not be using VA benefits and services and what VA can do
to help change that. This survey is anonymous and should take less than 5
minutes. If you are a woman veteran who is not utilizing VA benefits, please
take the survey to help the VA improve its services. |
