US could save billions with Medicaid managed care
Moving 10 million elderly and disabled Medicaid beneficiaries from
fee-for-service to managed care models could save Medicare and Medicaid $150
billion over the next 10 years, data showed. The move could also improve health
outcomes for these Medicaid beneficiaries as managed care plans help coordinate
services for beneficiaries, assist them with tasks so they can continue living
at home, and offer financial incentives to reduce hospitalizations and
readmissions.
