some indoor venues after three COVID-19 metrics dipped below certain
thresholds.
The policy, which was lifted immediately on Friday, had applied to
establishments like restaurants, bars, movie theaters, and gyms. Bob Luz,
president of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association, said removing the
measure was a "game changer" for Boston restaurants, adding
that some restaurants experienced a drop in sales when the policy went
into effect last month.
Boston's indoor mask mandate remains in effect, but the Boston Public
Health Commission is reviewing it.
