Boston Mayor Michelle Wu will likely
appeal a Tuesday court ruling that stopped her
administration from enforcing a vaccination mandate for workers from
three municipal unions.
“City governments, state and local governments, have the authority to be
able to require vaccination in the midst of public health emergency,” she
said. “I’m disappointed with where we are now in this.”
And the scuffle over mandates doesn’t end there. Though masking
requirements in multiple Massachusetts cities and public schools will be
lifted at the end of the month, Governor Charlie Baker said face
coverings will stay on at hospitals and congregate care
settings.
