As the invasion of Ukraine continues, The Conference Board is
providing insights on what the latest developments mean for business and
society. See below for our latest analysis and commentary:
The Crisis in Ukraine (Part
2): Implications for Business In part two of this podcast series, Samantha De Bendern, an
Associate Fellow at Chatham House, joins Sara Murray, Managing Director, International
of The Conference Board. The conversation covers a range of issues, including
how Russia may retaliate to the imposed sanctions, and how this response
could affect supply chains. The two also discuss cybersecurity and
preparedness, as well as recommendations for how companies can support
employees impacted by the crisis. How can existing corporate citizenship playbooks for addressing
natural disasters and domestic political issues help during an international
geopolitical crisis? In the second of a two-part series, Jeff Hoffman,
Corporate Citizenship Institute Leader at the ESG Center, and Paul
Washington, Executive Director at the ESG Center, outline five key insights:
1) Discuss the impact of providing relief with senior management to ensure
you have adequate resources; 2) Provide employees with ways to help, first
with cash then with volunteering; 3) Use all the sources of financial support
at your disposal; 4) Collaborate with other private sector firms; 5) In
making public statements, follow established protocols for addressing social
and political issues. |
