CRI SCIENTISTS IN THE NEWS

CRI Lloyd J. OLD STAR and associate professor of microbiology and immunology in medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, Gregory Sonnenberg, Ph.D., led work that identified ZBTB46 as the key molecular protector of gut health. A factor produced by ILC3 immune cells, ZBTB46 helps dampen inflammation and protect against infection in the intestines, and could be a valuable target for both preventive and therapeutic strategies for colorectal cancer.
