Why it matters: The Los Angeles Lakers and their fans are
having a rough start to the season. They currently sit in 13th place in the
NBA's 15-team Western Conference. You could argue that the highlight of the
team's season came yesterday, when Marine vet Annika Hutsler took off her
prosthetic leg and drank beer out of it. However, this isn't the first time
Annika has made the news. Just last month, she was the subject of a profile
piece for her work as
a pin-up model for a fundraiser calendar for Pin-Ups For Vets, a
nonprofit geared toward helping injured and ill veterans (fitting for Giving
Tuesday). Forget LeBron. Annika, you're the real MVP.
