Dear JOHN,
This National Caregivers Awareness Month, The Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society (LLS) wants to shine a light on
every caregiver impacted by blood cancer. Each has a
difficult, ever-changing , and essential role that can be
both emotionally exhausting and rewarding. We celebrate the
help and hope caregivers bring to others. Whether it’s
taking care of household chores or administering
medications, making appointments or supplying invaluable
emotional support, the care
they provide is an act of love.
Self-care for caregivers is
invaluable too. Long-time LLS volunteer Heather
shared what she learned when she became a caregiver after
her husband was recently diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic
leukemia (CLL).
