Today, the Centers for
Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released an update to two COVID-19
data products. First, CMS released an
update to the public use file (PUF) that presents Medicare utilization and
spending information for administration of the COVID-19 vaccine. This update
to the PUF includes an additional three months of data and refreshes the
previously released figures with more complete data, for dates of service
between December 11, 2020 and September 30, 2022. The PUF is based on
Medicare FFS claims CMS received by November 4, 2022. To view the PUF visit: https://www.cms.gov/medicare-covid-19-vaccine-analysis Additionally, CMS
released an update to the COVID-19 Hospitalization Trends Report that
highlights trends in hospitalization rates in 2020, 2021, and the first half
of 2022. The Report presents data cut by year, half-year, month, state and
various demographic characteristics and is accompanied by a public use file.
