"Hawkish" Powell Likely To Defend Higher Interest Rates Before Law Makers

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell is heading to Capitol Hill this week for two days of testimony before lawmakers. 

With data pointing towards a hotter-than-expected economy, it's believed that he'll take an aggressive stance in defending the possibility of raising interest rates even further than originally planned. 

This is much to the chagrin of many leftmost Democrats who have already discussed worries over too harshly tackling inflation and entering into recession territory as a result. 

The Fed leader has maintained his position though; asserting that long-term employment relies on price stability which justifies "softening" labor conditions pushing down prices accordingly...
