Seasons of Care: Assisting American Indian Elders with
Health Care Access, Part 2
|
|
Wednesday, March 22, 2023
From 2015 to 2022, the Pacific Institute for Research and
Evaluation-Southwest Center conducted community-based research in
collaboration with American Indian Elders in the Southwest to
understand their experiences with health care and health insurance.
This webinar will present information on culturally congruent
strategies for supporting American Indian Elders, with a focus on
patient navigation.
Objectives:
- Explain the role of
navigation services in helping Elders manage their health
- Describe two types of
support that Elders can expect to find in a tribal senior center
- List at least two
reasons why navigation is a culturally congruent approach for
assisting American Indian Elders seeking health care
