U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has
criticized OPEC's surprise production cut as an "unconstructive
act" that could create uncertainty and further burden consumers during a
time of high inflation. Yellen expressed her disappointment while
addressing reporters after an event at Yale University, stating that it was
regrettable OPEC decided to take this step. She added that it's still unclear what the
price impact will be, but any reduction in gasoline prices would be a boon to
consumers and the economy, and it would be detrimental if the trend were
