The 2019 Low-Income
Subsidy (LIS) benchmark premium is the maximum premium subsidy allocated to
cover monthly Medicare Part D premiums for people who receive full Extra-Help
and is calculated per CMS Part D region.
In 2019, thirteen (13) regions will lower their Medicare Part D LIS benchmark
premiums and twenty-one (21) regions will increase their benchmarks. Please
remember that the actual number of 2019 Medicare Part D plans qualifying for
the LIS $0 premium will not be known until the 2019 Medicare Part D plan
designs are released this fall. Click
