A new proton therapy worked with the body to attack cancer

Why it matters: Researchers from the Mayo Clinic have developed a new proton therapy treatment that induces a biologic response that attacks cancer cells that are resistant to other treatments.

Funny acronym: This treatment is called LEAP, which is apparently an acronym for "biologically enhanced particle therapy." Uhh ... anyone wanna explain how those words form that acronym?

Full Story: Mayo Clinic (2/17)
