Study: SDOH affect telehealth use

Telehealth visits rose by a little more than 23 percentage points
while in-person visits fell by 37% among privately insured patients from March
to June 2020 compared with the same period in 2019, but adoption of telehealth
was uneven and impeded by social determinants of health, researchers reported
in JAMA Network Open. "We will need to continue to assess and modify
telehealth strategies to maximize value during this digital age, particularly
given the challenges of the digital divide across social and geographic
lines," lead author Jonathan Weiner said.
