Emails Reveal Fauci’s Cozy Relationship with Media

But the related Buzzfeed headline is pure sympathy for Fauci, proving the cozy relationship remains intact (Buzzfeed).

In one example, Kyra Phillips of ABC News assured Fauci she respected him and would never endanger him any way (National Review).

From Buzzfeed senior reporter Jaon Leopold: An April 2020 email from NIH Director Francis Collins to Fauci under the subject line: Conspiracy gains momentum. The email included a link to an article about Brett Baier saying on FOX News that covid outbreak started in Wuhan lab. Fauci’s response is redacted (Twitter).

From James Freeman: In our bizarre media age, since the two outlets are generally pro-Fauci and anti-Trump, it’s not easy to find the news they’ve uncovered, even in their own reports. Instead, Dr. Fauci is cast as a tireless and dedicated public servant who—don’t laugh—is uncomfortable in the media spotlight (WSJ).

From Dan Crenshaw: Fauci lost my trust long before this. Never contextualizing his statements, never giving honest risk assessments, always treating us like we are too stupid to do anything but lockdown and wear masks forever. The emails show it was worse than we thought (Twitter).

From Sean Davis: If the most recent batch of Fauci’s FOIA’ed e-mails is any indication, Fauci’s job consisted entirely of 1) not telling the truth, 2) doing every media interview possible EXCEPT for Bret Baier/Fox News, and 3) responding to fan mail. If Fauci did any actual work, he hid it well (Twitter).

Another look at the media’s kid gloves for Fauci (Twitter).
