Pandemic spurred on mental health crisis among Asian Americans

Recent studies show that pandemic-related, anti-Asian racism has led to increased levels of anxiety, depression, and PTSD among Asian Americans. Racial discrimination "makes everything feel unsafe," said Dr. Justin Chen, a psychiatrist at Mass. General. "That’s, of course, the risk of trauma. You start to feel at any moment danger could happen. And that’s a huge detriment to quality of life."
