This year marks the 156th
anniversary of Juneteenth – the oldest commemoration of the end of slavery in
the United States. Across the United States, several leading firms, including
The Conference Board, are observing the holiday to reflect on the profound
human cost of racial inequity and to celebrate racial diversity. As we work toward a more inclusive
and equitable society, creating equal opportunities in education, upward
economic mobility, and workplace advancement are imperatives for the business
community. The Conference Board has a 100+ year
tradition of bringing together stakeholders to address our society's greatest
challenges. Below you'll find a number of our resources, including
upcoming events, that offer actionable insights to create a more sustainable
and inclusive economy and society for all. Best regards, Paul Washington |

Do in Addressing Today’s Social Challenges Major institutional investors are
looking for boards and management to be in the driver’s seat when crafting
corporate plans for addressing current social issues. Investors don’t expect
perfection, but they expect transparency—and want companies to disclose their
strategies, goals, and progress toward those goals. Companies should have and
disclose a robust human capital strategy that addresses racial, economic, and
health issues relating to the workforce. The private sector alone cannot
solve these issues, but this is an opportunity for constructive engagement
and meaningful progress. COVID-19’s Impact on Black

economy. Specifically, it recommends near- and longer-term actions to achieve
