US hitting encouraging vaccine milestones, but a surge could hit this fall if vaccinations lag

For the first time since March 2020, coronavirus death have dropped below 300 a day nationwide as the United States approaches 150 million fully vaccinated people. The encouraging signs, however, have not calmed the concerns of public health experts who say the Delta coronavirus variant could bring on a surge in cases this fall if only three-quarters of the country is vaccinated.
